BIOHACKING - UNLOCK YOUR FULL POTENTIAL

Updated: Jan 27, 2022

BIOHACKING IS THE CONCEPT OF MINDFULLY MANIPULATING THE CHEMISTRY AND PHYSIOLOGY OF YOUR INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL ENVIRONMENTS. THE REASON FOR DOING THIS IS TO IMPROVE VITALITY, LONGEVITY, AND OVERALL QUALITY OF LIFE. BIOHACKING INCREASES THE BLOOD FLOW TO THE BRAIN, CAUSING ELEVATED COGNITIVE FUNCTION, IMPROVED MOOD, AND DECREASED RISK OF DEGENERATIVE BRAIN DISORDERS SUCH AS ALZHEIMER'S AND DEMENTIA.

DAVE ASPREY, BIO ENGINEER, COINED THE TERM "BIOHACKING", AND IT HAS BECOME A MOVEMENT EVER SINCE. THE EVIDENCE IS BASED ON SCIENCE AND SELF EXPERIMENTATION.

WHAT ARE SOME WAYS TO BIOHACK?

-PRIORITIZING SLEEP

-PROPER NUTRITION

-WATER INTAKE

-ADAPTOGENS/SUPPLEMENTS

-FASTING

-MEDITATION

-GRATITUDE

-EXERCISE

-COLD THERAPY

-HEAT THERAPY

-LIMITING EMF EXPOSURE

-TIME IN NATURE

-SOCIALIZING

LET'S DIVE DEEPER INTO SOME OF THESE PRACTICES!

SLEEP-

This biohack is one of the easiest to execute (or at least it should be) because it is completely free! Unfortunately, in this digital age we live in, exposure to artificial light is at an all time high. The blue light that is emitted from TVs, smartphones, computers, fluorescent & LED lights disrupts the body's circadian rhythms and quality of sleep. Other negative effects promoted by blue lights are obesity, depression, diabetes, cancer, neurological disorders. At night time, the bluelight suppresses the body's natural melatonin productions.

Limiting exposure as much as possible, especially in the evening, as well as investing in a pair of bluelight blocking glasses would be beneficial actions to improve sleep quality.

OTHER WAYS TO BIOHACK SLEEP:

-DAYLIGHT EXPOSURE

-RED LIGHT THERAPY

-DAILY EXERCISE

-INTERMITTENT FASTING

-FAT & PROTEIN AT DINNER

Certain foods have high amounts of Melatonin, Magnesium, Zinc, Vitamin D, Omegas, & Tryptophan, which are beneficial to bodily functions including sleep.

SLEEP-FRIENDLY FOODS:

-NUTS

-SEEDS

-FISH

-EGGS

-OATS

-TART CHERRIES

-GRAPES

-GOGI BERRIES

-BANANAS
